Day 1

A 6 hour trek that begins near Gyalthang’s Shidag mountains in an easterly direction. We first ascend and cross over the first pass and enter Tsalang village with its rolling fertile valleys and a charming community of around 8 families. After another higher pass, we gradually descend into the sacred Ringa valley with beautiful views of the Gangdreng Mountains across. After walking through the Kochi villages and a visit to a family, we continue up the holy hill strewn with colorful prayer flags and the scent of incense and juniper.

Day 2

Another 6 hour trek to the surrounding mountains where the Kochi’s nomads graze their yaks. We will visit a nomad camp and then make our way to the Dozam hot springs where we can soak up our limbs before we are picked up by a vehicle to go back to Gyalthang.
